Rev. Ignatius Mazanowski

Father Ignatius Mazanowski is 39 years old and is the oldest of seven children. He is a Franciscan Friar who was ordained May 28, 2011. He is a member of the newly established Public Clerical Association of the Faithful in the Diocese of Phoenix called the Franciscan Friars of the Holy Spirit (F.H.S). He recently received a Sacred Theology Doctorate in Moral Theology through the Pontificia Università della Santa Croce (Pontifical University of the Holy Cross) in Rome, Italy. His Dissertation focused on "Mercy, Forgiveness, and Healing."

Father Ignatius also received a License in Sacred Theology (S.T.L.) majoring in Moral Theology from the Pontificia Università della Santa Croce (2014). In 2009 he received a Sacred Theology Baccalaureate (S.T.B.) from Catholic University of America. Fr. Zyg has a Master of Arts degree in Theology from St. Meinrad School of Theology (2004) and a Bachelor of Arts degree in Philosophy from Ball State University (2002).

In addition to his studies, and prior to coming to Phoenix, Fr. Ignatius was a professor at Saint Francis University. Since coming to the Diocese of Phoenix he has held retreats and taught on Mercy, Forgiveness, and Healing; which have been well received. He is currently in residence, with seven other friars, at Saint John the Baptist Mission in Laveen, Arizona (just South of Phoenix).
